No-exam life insurance
Understanding who gets fast-tracked approval, how the process differs, and options if you don't qualify.
Accelerated underwriting, now standard across many carriers, evaluates qualified applicants—those within age caps and amount thresholds—using application facts, medication records, motor vehicle history and related information rather than medical exams. Approval can happen immediately. Each rate shown on this site indicates whether a medical exam is mandatory, possible, or not required.
What it changes
Omitting a medical exam doesn't bypass the underwriting process. Carrier review of your answers occurs, and policies based on false information may be challenged within the initial two-year window. Carrier database queries might prompt additional testing; your participation remains your decision.
Who tends to qualify
Typically candidates under age 60 seeking coverage below the carrier's rapid-approval threshold, with no significant past medical concerns and tobacco-free for 12+ months. Recent physician exams including blood tests satisfy some carriers' requirements in place of a new exam.
When a medical exam is needed, expect a 20–30 minute appointment with a paramedic visiting your Garden Grove home or workplace at carrier expense. Positive findings often upgrade your health category for healthier applicants, making exams occasionally advantageous rather than disadvantageous.
