Garden Grove highlight
Strong Vietnamese-American community
Garden Grove is home to approximately 40 percent Vietnamese-American residents, forming the northern anchor of Little Saigon, the largest Vietnamese community outside of Southeast Asia.

Garden Grove and its neighboring cities—Westminster, Fountain Valley and Santa Ana—form Little Saigon, a cultural and economic center spanning multiple Orange County communities. Vietnamese immigration began in waves during the 1970s and 1980s following the end of the Vietnam War, and today the region is recognized as the largest Vietnamese community outside of Vietnam itself. The City of Garden Grove itself is approximately 31 percent Vietnamese-American, with many Vietnamese-speaking households, family businesses and cultural institutions throughout the city.
The heart of Little Saigon centers on Asian Garden Mall and the surrounding blocks, where Vietnamese restaurants, groceries, herbal medicine shops and cultural organizations serve the community. The Vietnamese American Chamber of Commerce, founded as the first Vietnamese business organization in the United States, is headquartered in Garden Grove and continues to support Vietnamese entrepreneurs and families. The city recognizes the cultural significance of this neighborhood: in 2023, the Garden Grove City Council approved $250,000 for design guidelines to preserve and support the Little Saigon area's character and economy.
For Vietnamese-American families in Garden Grove, many are building on achievements their parents and grandparents made while raising children who are college-bound or already working. Planning the years ahead—covering a mortgage, children's education, and the gap until they are independent—is what life insurance is for. The right amount locked in at the right term keeps premiums affordable during the years the family needs protection most.
